There are many problems that the United States is facing nowadays, and many people are critical about the way the country is developing. I, for instance, regard international conflicts and inadequate political stance the United States takes in them as the greatest problems for the country. I believe that the position of the United States as a world policeman has declined, but it did not take another position that would explain what the country means for the planet. Thus, at the present moment, the United States is no longer as influential as it used to be, and it has a negative impact on the country development.

There are many examples that prove this point. For instance, the current conflict between Ukraine and Russia and American involvement in it can serve as a good proof for this argument. The instability in the Eastern European region began a year ago with a full-scale war taking place for the last half a year. Nevertheless, until the last month, the United States was unable to give an adequate response to the issue by not taking active steps to resolve the issue. As a result, Russia was able to establish its influence while making the United States and other Western allies look like second-rate world players with no significant impact.

The conflict in Syria was also very important for showing the United States’ weak stance in international relations. It proved that the country was no longer able to provide international stability and security, and was unsure about its position in the world. Due to reluctance of American politicians to solve the conflict, it lost significant amount of points for helping out democratic strives and supporting the struggling nations. As a result, there are a war and constant aggression in that part of the world while millions of Americans are not satisfied with such a state of things.

These issues are so important for the country since they determine the role the United States is playing in the world. Based on this role, the United States can build and strengthen further relations with other countries. Thus, in case the United States is not strong, it will not be able to use its influence and power in order to achieve the needed world decisions such as maintaining stability and peace on the planet. Due to reluctance and passiveness of the politicians, the United States can no longer impact many events that are taking place in the world. Since the country’s leaders ignored many of the problems for a long time, they distanced themselves from their resolution. As a result, the country was not able to change the course of various events for the benefits of itself as well as democratic principles. Thus, at the present moment, the United States has a long way to go to restore its previous position as an influential country.

The influence in the world has a huge impact on domestic policies because the more influential the country is, the more opportunities it has to sign beneficial economic deals and so on. Thus, loss of the influence triggers many events as a result, and they impact the further development of the country. People no longer feel secure knowing that the government may be reluctant to take active steps when it comes to serious conflicts and significant international events.

Thus, I believe that international relations issue is the biggest problem of the country because the latter does not have a clear strategy about how it should act in various situations that require international involvement. From my perspective, the government has to develop new doctrines that will enable it to react to the world conflicts in a timely manner because things that happen on the other side of the planet have a direct influence on the United States.
